Sometimes businesses or new cashiers may not be familiar with our program and think they can not accept the card. The Indie Prepaid Gift Card is a prepaid Mastercard and even if they have never heard of the program the business should still be able to accept the card by charging it the same way they would any other Mastercard.
Can I use my card for food delivery apps?
Unfortunately, no. Food delivery apps like Doordash and Uber Eats are nationwide technology companies. Whenever you place an order through their service you pass money to them and they keep a large percentage of your order -- sometimes up to 35% or more -- and pay the rest to the local business. This ultimately hurts local businesses which is why we strongly encourage ordering with a local business directly.
How soon does my card work?
You can spend your card immediately.
Does the balance expire?
Gift funds never expire.
What if I lose my card?
Oh no! If you lose your plastic card we can issue you a new card to access your funds for $5. If you lose your e-Gift card we can re-issue you a replacement at no additional charge.
What do you mean by chains?
Our current parameters for a chain store are if a business has 10 or more locations. For example, if a store has locations in several states that is usually a good indicator that they are a chain.
